Spacer plates are used in conjunction with the roller guides. A spacer plate is mounted between the top of the guard and cutterbar to gain the necessary clearance for the knife to be installed and run properly. The combination of the cutterbar thickness and the spacer plate thickness determines which type of guard is used on each platform (12 mm / 14 mm / 17 mm). MF 5200
