Parts Manager

Parts Manager:

  • Responsible for parts operations within the dealership to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control.
  • Optimization of the parts department processes and effectively engage department personnel by recommending training and preparing employee performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate, enforce, and monitor effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Promote and merchandise parts and accessories in conjunction with marketing programs.
  • Assists in developing, adhering to, and executing Parts Department goals, budgets, and marketing plans.
  • Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures.
  • Submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit.
  • Maximizes the use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goals.
  • Ensures all department tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order.
  • Responsible for hiring decisions on approved staffing and positions.
  • Manages Parts Department employee's development activities.
  • Manage Parts Department employees scheduling and after-hours coverage.
  • Manage Parts Department employee's performance by using coaching, corrective actions, performance evaluations, and Key Results Areas (KRAs).

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • 1 year experience in Parts Department operations
  • Understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations.
  • Excellent customer service skills, and management experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports and data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work extended hours and weekends.
